Kollel, our Kindergarten through 7th grade kids’ education program, is winding down our second year, and it has been a blast! We held debates, went on strike at the Chanukah kandelika factory, wrote poetry, made art, and did a deep dive on Megillat Esther, the Scroll of Esther. You can check out highlights from our 2022-23 school year here.
Registration for the 2023-24 school year is now open for children in Kindergarten through 7th grade.
Our final class of the year, on 6/24 (right after the DCPS school year ends) will be open to prospective families, and children are welcome to participate. This program will be structured as a class and activity for children, which caregivers are invited to attend. Following the activity, we will hold a picnic lunch.
In addition, pending location, we hope to hold an open house in September ahead of High Holy Days.
Schedule for 6/24:
10:00am – 11:30am: Class / activities: we will do a brief introductory activity, and then embark on a mystical scavenger hunt in the park. The theme of this activity is Shabbat and Havdalah. Caregivers are invited to participate alongside their children.
11:30am-1:00pm: Picnic – bring your own lunch; you can meet with Liora, NSP’s Education Director, new and returning Kollel staff, and Rabbi Yosef.
Location:
Rock Creek Park, Picnic Grove 07
