One of our most powerful tools to keep one another healthy and safe is to stay home when we are sick or are experiencing symptoms that may mean we’ll pass on a potentially severe illness. Please stay home if you have COVID, the flu, RSV, norovirus, or another contagious and potentially severe illness or if you are experiencing flu-like symptoms. Please keep the following guidance in mind:

You should stay home if:

  • You have COVID, the flu, RSV, norovirus, or another potentially severe contagious illness
  • Someone in your household has COVID, the flu, RSV, norovirus, or another potentially severe contagious illness, you have been in close contact during a period where the household member was likely contagious, and you are unable to confirm that you do not have the same illness (ie. receive a negative test).
  • You are experiencing any of the following symptoms:
    • Fever with no other symptoms
    • Diarrhea
    • Vomiting
    • Sore throat
    • Severe, acute coughing
    • Runny nose that is thick and/or not clear

You may return to attending when:

  • After having tested positive for COVID: you’ve received 2 negative rapid covid tests at least 24 hours apart
  • For other illnesses: no fever present for at least 24 hours and no other symptoms indicating you may still be contagious
  • Vomiting and diarrhea cleared for at least 24 hours and no other symptoms indicating you may still be contagious
  • Antibiotics (if prescribed) have been used for a full 24 hours
  • Severe coughing and excessive nasal discharge resolved

AND… we trust you to know your body:

  • Many of us have allergies and other chronic conditions that could create the above symptoms but would not make you contagious. If you are reasonably sure (it can be hard to be 100% and we trust your knowledge of your body!) that the symptoms you are experiencing are from these other conditions, it is ok to attend.
