New Synagogue Project is offering a Dismantling Racism from the Inside Out (DRIO) course. Over a full-day workshop and six sessions, facilitators will guide participants through the practice of mussar (Jewish spiritual ethics) as an expression of Jewish values focused on confronting white supremacy, subverting hierarchies, and sustaining yourself as you work for racial justice. Learn more here.
The facilitators for NSP’s DRIO course are Jessica Valoris and Rabbi Yosef Berman. Jessica Valoris is an interdisciplinary artist and community facilitator inspired by the earth-based traditions of her Black American and Jewish ancestry. Rabbi Yosef Berman is co-founder of the New Synagogue Project and passionate about the power of community to create both personal and societal transformation. Both Jessica Valoris and Rabbi Yosef Berman are trained by Kirva, formerly The IOWA Project.
