Bereishit Parents’ Circle & Playgroup

On the 2nd and 4th Saturdays of each month, the Bereishit Parents’ Circle & Playgroup has 1) a facilitated conversation for parents with kids of all ages and 2) Jewish programming and childcare for kids 0-5 whose parents attend the facilitated conversation. Snacks for all!

NSP launched its first Giving Circle in March 2021, seeking to provide one more way for our community to come together to act on our shared values and fulfill NSP’s mission of reflecting the world of justice, equity, and liberation for which we strive.

Justice

Our Justice Team is shaping how we live out our social justice values as a community. We build relationships with grassroots organizations, sit on city-wide coalitions, engage in political advocacy and education, and show up in solidarity with marginalized communities.

Kaleidoscope

Kaleidoscope space within the New Synagogue Project is led by people of color, Sephardi/Mizrahi Jews, and other individuals directly impacted by colonialism and racism. Kaleidoscope is committed to uplifting the unique identities and insights of our community.

Kids

NSP engages kids and parents in our community through a variety of programs, such as:

  • Kollel, our school-aged kids’ education program
  • Tot Shabbat and Bereishit Playgroup on Shabbat mornings for ages 0-5
  • Kids’ Team parties and meet-ups throughout the year

Learning

We offer adult learning courses and workshops throughout the year, such as Introduction to Jewish Practice, Leyning for Liberation, and the Poetry of Kabbalat Shabbat.
