We Can Build Our Home—and Support Theirs
Help NSP raise $10,000 by September 30 for the Museum of the Palestinian People
This is a year of building homes.
For the first time in our history, New Synagogue Project is preparing to move into a long-term home of our own—a place where we will pray, learn, organize, celebrate, raise our children, and bring more love, justice, and healing into our city and our world.
Last year, our community helped the Museum of the Palestinian People purchase a permanent home of its own. This year, we are coming together again to support what the museum is building inside that home.
Our goal is to raise $10,000 by September 30, making NSP a Liberation Sponsor of MPP’s ninth annual fundraising gala, Museum in Bloom, on October 22.
Our communities’ flourishing is connected
It can be easy to fall into the belief that there is only so much safety, belonging, generosity, and possibility to go around—that supporting another community somehow takes something away from our own.
We reject that zero-sum story.
We can build our home and support theirs. In fact, the two are connected. By helping institutions like the Museum of the Palestinian People flourish, we help make Washington, DC, a place where Palestinian history and culture are protected and celebrated; where Jewish and Palestinian communities stand visibly alongside one another; and where all of our communities can live with greater dignity, belonging, and freedom.
Our safety does not come from another community having less. It comes from building a city in which all of us can flourish.
Help bring MPP’s permanent home fully to life
The Museum of the Palestinian People has purchased its permanent home and expanded its gallery space. It is now preparing for its next chapter, including:
- New exhibitions
- Expanded school and university programs
- More public programming
- Collaborations with major Palestinian artists
- Bayt wa Balad, an ambitious project connecting Palestinian places, stories, objects, and memory
NSP’s sponsorship will also include a private tour of the museum for our community. We will announce the date once it is scheduled so that everyone has an opportunity to attend, regardless of whether or how much they contributed.
Help us reach $10,000 by September 30
Every contribution—whether it is $18, $50, $180, or more—will move our community closer to its goal.
Together, we can build our home, help our neighbors bring their home fully to life, and reject the idea that either community must flourish at the expense of the other.
